Installation & Safety Guidelines

1. Full Engagement — Thread the eye bolt completely into the mounting surface until the shoulder (if present) makes firm contact with the base material. Both threads must be of equal length, and the base material must be of equal strength to the bolt itself.

2. Load Direction — Never apply angular loads to straight shank (non-shouldered) eye bolts. For angular lifts up to 45°, always use a shoulder-type eye bolt and consult manufacturer load charts for WLL reduction factors. Exceeding 45° significantly reduces load capacity and compromises safety.

3. Torque Specifications — Tighten nuts to specified torque values to prevent thread stripping and ensure proper load distribution.

4. Pre-Use Inspection — Inspect for surface discontinuities, cracks, wear, or deformation before each use. Never use eye bolts with visible damage.

5. Do Not Exceed WLL — Always verify SWL/WLL markings and never exceed rated capacity. Avoid shock loading and dynamic load spikes.

6. Angular Load Derating — For shouldered eye bolts, the WLL decreases as the lift angle increases from vertical. Always apply appropriate safety factors per ASME B30.26 guidelines.
